Teemu Keisteri, who lives and works in Helsinki, Finland, considers himself to be an entertainment artist. Keisteri’s background is in photography, which he studied in Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts. Keisteri also studied visual arts in the Netherlands. Recently Keisteri has gathered a lot of attention for his Ukkeli character, which is something that manifests itself in all forms of art and media. The character was created by Teemu in Ruttopuisto park in Helsinki in 2008 and besides paintings, has now been featured in unique and hand painted t-shirts, postcards and dishware. Ukkeli, Keisteri makes video art, art/dance performances, music and DJ gigs. Keisteri also runs a gallery called Kalleria in Kallio, Helsinki and also hosts workshops where you can design your own Ukkeli t-shirt.
